We made plans with a boy visiting here from Port au Prince, who speaks French and English fluently, to go out and explore a local bat cave and the area's water source. We followed thirteen year old Emanuel, and several other younger boys down a twisting path into a ravine that led to a many caverned cave where tons of fruit bats were napping the morning away. It was kinda creepy, hunching over to get into the inner caverns without touching anything or getting plopped on from population above.

We got out of there with some great pictures and footage! We continued on to the village's water source, a spring where everyone goes to bath, do laundry and get drinking water. Chris Low has been working with an engineer from Concern International (?) to construct a concrete and brick area that would withstand the yearly floods, which contaminate the drinking water supply. The project has been started and we were eager to see the progress.
